George Hewson

George Hewson, has a B.A., M.A. in History from York University and a B. Ed. in History and French from University of Toronto.  He is a museum instructor and has taught courses for the George Brown Seniors on a number of subjects such as Japanese Culture and World History Survey.

A generalist with a  multiplicity of interests, George has lectured across Canada on East Asian history and philosophy. Not content to focus solely on one area of the world he has also acted as a guide and museum enrichment consultant in Rome and Pompeii.

The Fall of the Roman Empire and Why it Matters Today

After briefly tracing how Rome was able to build one of the greatest empires in human history, there will be an analysis of the various factors that led to its demise after centuries of success.
